For those of us who love this UK born soul singer!!!!!

London born and of Jamaican heritage, Khaleel Muhammad began his music career long before converting to Islam and in those days he could be seen recording tracks in London with his long time friends Longzy D ('This is Ska' and 'Hip Hop Reggae' inventor) and Derrick Taylor (Bassist for Gabrielle) and Roachford (UK soul singer).

A few years later, Khaleel began working for Yusuf Islam (Cat Stevens) where he wrote and produced 'The Adventures of Hakim' and 'A Simple Guide to Prayer' among others during that time. In those days he also lent his hand at providing backing vocals for Yusuf and Zain Bhikha before stepping into the Nasheed industry himself.

Since his debut album 'Heaven' was released in 2003, he has toured France with world renowned nasheed group 'Raihan' and he has toured USA with 'Shaam', he has performed in South Africa, Sweden 3 times, Germany 3 times, Malaysia, Canada twice, Holland twice and toured France. His second album 'Dhikr of Life' was produced by Raihan and was released in 2005. Khaleel's music videos are a regular feature on 'Islam Channel' and 'Noor TV' and in 2008 he was nominated at the Muslim News Awards for Excellence in Arts.

Khaleel Muhammad will be celebrating 10 years in the industry with his 4th album 'I.Belong' The album touches on the theme of identity in the contemporary age using the secret language of flowers as a metaphor for the the multitude of characters and themes found in and outside of the Muslim community.
